Reverse remanufacturing of electrical and electronic equipment and the circular economy

Purpose The purpose of the article is to analyze chain electrical and electronic equipment (EEE) its waste (WEEE), within product Recicladora Urbana (Reurbi), interaction with circular economy. Design/methodology/approach Exploratory research a qualitative approach, based on study case method, was conducted. following stages were carried out: definition object; bibliographic survey; documentary technical visit Reurbi; contacts experts; creation instruments execution. Findings main recipients remanufactured EEE are third sector organizations that run social programs schools few financial resources. Recycling firms receive parts components from WEEE handled by Reurbi. Research limitations/implications authors only addressed reverse remanufacturing therefore, cannot extend results an industrial sector. Practical implications One practical contribution disclosing processes recycling waste, fostered National Solid Waste Policy (PNRS), under economy policy. Social There large market potential for logistics end-of-life as source raw material, which yet be explored in Brazil, creating new jobs revenue.
